Role Description:

The University of Delaware’s Nursing Program trains hundreds of students each week as they pursue their Bachelor’s in Nursing degrees through skills labs and scenario based education. As part of their education, large amounts of supplies are required for high-quality education and practice. The Simulation Center is committed to providing our students with the best learning experiences meanwhile, reducing costs and maintaining realism. To meet this goal, CSIIDEE has developed a one-of-a-kind “Repurposing” program to take used supplies in the labs and restore them to an “as-new” state for our students, while reducing large amounts of unnecessary waste created by medical supplies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Simulation Operations Manager, CSIIDEE Repurposers are tasked with the following:

• Supporting the Simulation Program by helping maintain supply inventory and organization.  This includes restocking labs and weekly inventory checks.
• Rebuilding of Nursing supplies kits to an “as-new” state. Instructions for each kit/packet are available at the repurposing station. 
• Facilitating the checking in and checking out of supplies from the supply room.
• Communicating supply needs to the CSIIDEE Business Administrator
