CEMA houses the Office of the Delaware State Climatologist, Delaware Environmental Observing System, and the University of Delaware’s Satellite Receiving Station. CEMA serves as the most comprehensive observed environmental data resource for Delaware.
Role Description:
In an effort to support CEMA staff to develop a compendium of resources used or needed by our state and local partners, CEMA is looking to hire an undergraduate intern to help connect with identified partners, meet with relevant staff, identify their current workflows, and document the resources that are needed to best accomplish their work. These tasks will require development meetings with CEMA staff, social media outreach, in-person and virtual meetings with partners, and targeted follow-up. Additionally, CEMA staff are looking to identify ways in which current applications and services can be better advertised and shared with our partners.

Develop and maintain a master list of local stakeholders and partners.

Document and analyze information from environmental data stakeholders.

Develop and maintain a catalog of local, regional, and national environmental data and information resources.

Review existing resources offered by CEMA and identify gaps or creative means to extend resources.

Review and update information on websites using a web interface.

Create accurate, informative content for use in websites and social media.

Support and participate in in-person and virtual outreach activities.

Assist CEMA staff with administrative duties, as needed.

Ability to use online productivity resources WordPress, Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets), and familiarity with Microsoft Excel.

Interest in environment and climate topics.

Interest in creative means of outreach and communication.
