Basic Function: |
Manage facilities related functions within Culinary Services. Ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of all culinary facilities on campus. Reports to designated supervisor. |

Examples of Duties: |
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: Manage the maintenance, safety and cleanliness of all culinary operations. Manage the coordination of daily work order and scheduled work for University Culinary Services. Work with University Facilities Management to communicate needs, follow up on issues, and work order reviews. Plan facilities-related projects, renovations, and space layout. Support project coordination and oversight while monitoring progress. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns; including loading docks, service areas, kitchen spaces, and dining rooms. Collaborate with internal departments, such as the Office of the University Architect and University Facilities Management, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and a high standard of service. Implement and provide sanitation and safety protocols such as proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness standards. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety inspections and ensure compliance to any corrective action. Manage external vendor relationships to ensure routine maintenance is completed on all equipment. Manage equipment needs, including the monitoring of maintenance and repair, preventative maintenance, and during transitional periods. Oversee the cleaning, painting, moving, refuse/recycling and entomological needs. Track and maintain equipment inventory. Investigate broken equipment, which may include exerting force or moving heavy objects. Tag new equipment with asset tags and maintain a tracking log of all equipment by unit. Provide ongoing assessment of furnishings/equipment and make recommendations regarding the purchase of new inventory of products and/or refinishing, repairing items. When necessary, deliver inventory items (i.e. carpet squares, tools, maintenance repair parts) to the appropriate places and people. Manage communication to students and staff regarding scheduled work. Act as primary manager for facility related services including but not limited to laundry services, furniture, building signage, and related areas. Collaborate with departments across campus including but not limited to University Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety, academic colleges, Fire Prevention and Safety to support safety and student success. Assist in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures. Serve on assigned department, division, and University committees. Perform related duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management, facility management, or related area and two years' experience in a relevant field. Must be able to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. OR Associate's degree in business, hospitality management, facility management, or related area and four years' experience in a relevant field. Must be able to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. License/Certification: Valid driver's license with safe driving record. Knowledge Of: Physical plant such as HVAC, light fixtures, ballasts, electrical, switches and appliances, windows, floors, walls, roofs, concrete, furniture, door closures, locks, window and other air conditioners, heaters, motors, air handlers, absorption machines, air compressors, cabinets etc. Culinary operations and kitchen equipment Project management Health and safety regulations related to food service operations and food safety Skill In: Written, verbal and interpersonal communication Ability To: Respond calmly and quickly to challenging situations Multi-task while managing multiple projects and assignments * Adhere to deadlines Work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed Travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally |
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable: |
Two years' professional experiences in a high-volume food service operation. |

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. |
