Work Schedule

Flexible within M-F, 8-5. Up to 20 hours per week.

Job Summary

Under general direction, responsible for providing front office customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Provide guidance, information and assistance to students seeking academic internships and service-learning opportunities. Provide information to students on all of the CICE programs. Process necessary data and paperwork related to student placement for academic internships and service-learning. Assist students with CICE processes. Help develop and maintain partner data and internship position information and manage projects.

Use customer service and problem-solving skills to respond to customers via email, telephone, and in person. Ability to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively with office staff and administrators.
Should be familiar with a variety of office support technology and systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Must be capable of learning CICE's custom computer programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; familiarity with Microsoft Office programs; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Need to be customer service oriented.
• Must have a professional demeanor;
• Must have strong computer skills;
• Must be able to communicate effectively in person with students and on the telephone with representatives from companies and organizations;
• Must be familiar with PCs: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Web;
• Excellent listening and follow-through skills;
• Familiar with basic office procedures and telephone etiquette;

Physical Requirements

Standing, sitting, lifting up to 20lbs, answering telephone, typing
