Job Summary

The Department of Human Communication is a fast-paced, team environment with frequent interruptions. We are looking for someone who can make decisions, exercise sound judgment and discretion, handle multiple priorities and organize. The ideal candidate should be able to interact successfully with diverse group of students, instructors, staff and members of the business community. 

Under direct supervision, Student Assistants play an active role in the day to day operations with staff and faculty. Duties will include answering phones, responding to emails, filing, making copies, scan, sort mail, and assist staff with special events or special project on campus, other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

• Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
• Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
• In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
• Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

• Must submit a resume and financial aid summary, which can be found in the student portal.

• Must be eligible for federal work study
