Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Temporary appointment, expires on or before 36 months from date of hire, may be extended, may become permanent. Non-exempt classification. |
Essential Functions: Operating under the general supervision of the Director of Procurement & Contracts, the Buyer II Contract Analyst will collectively support the acquisition of commodities, particularly those of a technical and specialized nature. This position will contribute to the development of standard contracts, service agreements, and leases. It will manage a variety of procurement assignments from routine transactions to one-of-a-kind or customized items with a focus on developing original specifications to meet campus needs. The Buyer II role will administer the campus Procurement Card (PCard) program. Responsibilities will be co-shared and may be divided by department, transaction type, or cardholder group to ensure comprehensive coverage. Duties include issuing and deactivating cards, providing cardholder training, managing monthly reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with CSU, Cal State LA, and state procurement regulations. Incumbent will collaborate in resolving card disputes, investigating fraudulent or lost card activity, and addressing escalated issues. |
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in purchasing, marketing, accounting, business, or a relevant field. Alternatively, additional hands-on experience that showcases the acquisition and successful application of the mentioned knowledge and abilities can be substituted for the required education on a year-forÂ-year basis. Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to a two-year track record in purchasing, commensurate with the responsibilities of a Buyer I. This experience should include a background in formal competitive bidding processes and the development of contracts, service agreements, leases, or other written legal agreements. General knowledge of contract development procedures and practices. Ability to learn a variety of CSU policies, practices, and formats for common contracts, service agreements, and leases. Ability to analyze bids and administer the bidding process. Keep accurate financial records and apply creativity in developing cost-saving buying practices. Must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Good computer skills and fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
