The Position: Under the general direction of the Director/Title IX Coordinator/DHR Administrator, the Senior Civil Rights Investigator investigates the most complex complaints of protected status discrimination and harassment, retaliation and sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking in a fair, impartial and timely manner. The incumbent identifies and interviews relevant parties and witnesses; gathers directly related evidence from various sources; documents all investigatory meetings; composes and sends appropriate correspondence with parties, advisors, and others regarding investigations and other aspects of the formal and informal resolution processes; documents investigation steps in applicable case management system. Using gathered information, prepares detailed investigation reports, which may include credibility assessments, findings of fact and recommendations as to violations of policy. The incumbent may serve as lead investigator, advise other investigators, and coordinate external investigations, as needed. The incumbent also contributes to ensuring compliance with Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, VAWA/the campus SaVEAct, including the Clery Act, and related laws, such as FEHA, as well as California State University policies. |

Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years of related experience in conducting investigations under Title IX, other civil rights laws or similar in educational institutions or workplaces. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse set of professionals, students, staff and community members. Ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Master's degree or Juris Doctor. Five years conducting civil rights and/or HR-related investigations in higher education or the workplace. |

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $5,053 - $16,221/monthly. Budgeted Hiring Salary Range is $10,417-$11,250/monthly. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
