We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Career Center Engagement and Operations Lead (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Non-Exempt). Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Engagement and Operations Lead provides coordination and administrative support functions to the Career Center and is a member of the Career Center’s Employer Relations Team. Supports the Associate Director in developing and coordinating surveys to assess the success and areas of improvement related to employer recruitment efforts, while also supporting the employer relations team in coordinating comprehensive employer recruitment initiatives such as the on-campus interview program and other career-related events and services utilizing Symplicity, the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, including kiosks within the system. The role includes drafting and coordinating information to disseminate employment and recruitment opportunities, programs, and services to students through print, online, email, and other communication channels. Utilizes Symplicity to record, track, evaluate, and approve new registrations, job postings, on-campus interviews, and information sessions, and uses university systems to support email communications, announcements, promotions, and marketing of key employment opportunities, programs, and services. The position provides front-line professional customer service to employers, students, and on- and off-campus constituents, interacting regularly with employers and students to ensure a successful on-campus interview experience. The Engagement and Operations Lead independently troubleshoots and resolves customer issues, makes referrals to appropriate staff, schedules appointments, maintains daily office schedules, coordinates walk-in traffic, including walk-in counseling, the computer lab, and the career library. Oversees student assistants and coordinates internal office activities and requests to other campus service units. The position serves as a point of contact to students, employers, and the university community regarding employer recruitment efforts and other inquiries related to on-campus interviews, employer information sessions, job postings, recruitment events, the Titan Job Shadow Program, and other employer recruiting events and Career Center programs and services.

In addition, the Engagement and Operations Lead oversees the data management and analysis of 12twenty platform data used for post-graduation outcomes, runs data reports in response to outcomes-related requests from internal and external campus partners, and reviews, analyzes, and cleans post-graduation outcomes data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Provides administrative support for the I Am First program by overseeing student attendance and assignment completion in program cohorts, analyzing student cohort evaluation data, and updating evaluation questions as needed to improve program processes. Oversees the Career Center LEAD as a Titan Student Assistant Training Program, which involves creating and overseeing the training program Canvas Course, supervising front desk student assistants, and providing training to internal and external supervisors utilizing the program for their department and/or area student assistants. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program, or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.  

Preferred Qualifications

Previous years of increasingly responsible clerical support experience in a high traffic deadline-driven customer service environment. Experience in a team-oriented setting preferred. Skill in independently researching questions and making appropriate contacts for problem-solving. Use of basic features in Excel for graphing and charting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Skill in making appropriate job decisions following established policies and past practices.

License/Certifications

A valid California driver’s license.
