The Lifeguarding position follows the hours of operation for the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center, Bakke Cove Pool and the UW- Madison Pier at Memorial Union. These hours are posted on the Rec Well website (www.recwell.wisc.edu). Lifeguards can also work aquatic events and rentals, including competitive swimming and diving events, student organizations, and certification classes. |

Minimum: $17.00 per hour (Summer) Maximum: $20.00 per hour (Events) |

Qualifications: |
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED certification • Successfully completing a skill test out consisting of a 300-yard swim, 2-minute tread, brick retrieval, and a 17ft surface dive • Ability to attend monthly 2-hour Lifeguard In-Service trainings to practice and maintain skill ability. • Attend monthly in-service trainings and bi-weekly skill curriculum. |
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: |
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED certification |
Position Summary/Job Duties: |
• Ensure the safety of all participants in the Aquatics center by enforcing preventative measures, promoting consistency, and remaining alert. |
Physical Demands: |
Within this position you will be required to remain alert while on shift, as well as perform Lifeguarding CPR/AED/First Aid skills to the standard of the American Red Cross. |
