Schedule: |
Minimum of 10 hours per week during normal office hours, 9am-5pm. No night or weekend hours. Required minimum of 2 hours per shift. Ability to work during winter and summer breaks are an advantage. |

Qualifications: |
No previous experience required. Training will be provided. Familiarity with libraries or the Library of Congress Classification system are seen as advantages. Applicants should have excellent organizational/detail-oriented skills and are comfortable working independently. |

Position Summary/Job Duties: |
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) department is known for delivering requested materials in a timely manner to faculty and students at UW-Madison and to other institutions around the world. ILL Student Assistants are responsible for completing a range of tasks which assist full-time staff in the loaning and borrowing of materials. A successful ILL Student Assistant must be able to take direction (verbal/written), enjoy working independently, work efficiently, and communicate effectively with full-time staff and other student assistants. This position is expected to retrieve physical materials from different areas of Memorial Library and the Wisconsin State Historical Society, scan digital requests, complete eJournal requests, and work with full-time staff to complete lending and borrowing requests. Other tasks may be assigned as needed. Training will be provided. No previous experience required but there is an advantage if applicants have previous experience in libraries and/or the Library of Congress Classification. |
Physical Demands: |
Must be able to spend multiple hours working at a computer and/or scanning station. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. |
