Department Overview:

The Alexander lab needs a talented young scientist looking for experience in a top class research lab. This lab uses biomedical molecular analyses and biophysical assays to evaluate the signaling cues arising in skin that control overall metabolism and disease susceptibility. The last student in this position had great bioinformatics skills and engineering aptitude, and was a first author on a Nature Communications paper. If that sounds like you, please apply.

Schedule:

Preferably, your schedule would be aligned with the work to do, in other words when an experiment is started, it needs to be processed and finished. The total hours could be flexible, the more hours you have available, the better.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $31,000.00 Maximum: $45,000.00

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The successful candidate will be aiming to go to Graduate school. You need to be smart and flexible, and handy with numbers, statistics and bioinformatics.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

To work together on biomolecular assays, such as thin layer chromatography, lipidomic mass spectrometry, western blotting, immunohistochemical stains, mouse husbandry, tissue analysis and general lab manager duties.

Physical Demands:

Many steps a day, some weight carrying.
