The Department of African Cultural Studies provides research and teaching in the languages and expressive cultures of Africa and Africans around the world. This includes work on both graduate and undergraduate levels, and emphasizes the development and application of analytical, linguistic, and methodological tools that enable students to work effectively and imaginatively across regions, languages, cultural forms, methodologies, and disciplines. |

Qualifications: |
• Enrolled as a graduate student at UW-Madison making satisfactory progress towards a degree. • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Studies, Linguistics, applied linguistics, African Cultural Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, World language Education, or a related field. • Advanced proficiency in modern standard Arabic across all skills—speaking, reading, writing, listening and cultural understanding • Prior experience teaching language to foreign language learners. • Familiarity with language acquisition strategies and classroom technology |
