Department Overview: |
The Exhibitions and Collections Department at the Chazen Museum of Art operates under the Curatorial Division and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of exhibitions, as well as the care and presentation of the museum’s permanent collection. The team oversees the installation, handling, and storage of artworks, supporting both temporary exhibitions and long-term collection displays. Student assistants collaborate closely with curators, registrars, project managers, designers, and preparators to ensure that objects are displayed safely and in alignment with curatorial intent. Student assistants in this department gain exposure to a wide range of museum practices, including exhibition logistics, object handling, artwork installation, label production, and digital rendering. |

Qualifications: |
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student Available to work Monday through Friday. Ideally, available to work over the summer. |
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: |
Strong attention to detail, initiative, and communication skills. |
Position Summary/Job Duties: |
Format, produce, and install artwork labels and didactic text for exhibitions and permanent collection displays. |
Physical Demands: |
Safely handle and move artwork and exhibition materials. |
