Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Student Research Worker to join our team in a temporary part time position to work within the Division of Critical Care and Hospital Medicine Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing research support to our Division.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities will be to conduct data analysis for research studies evaluating relationships between sedative medications and long-term mental health and developmental outcomes in critically ill children.
- Analysis will involve developing and working with large data sets, using propensity scores and other comorbidity adjustment methods, longitudinal data analysis, and generating and interpreting results.
- Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Equivalency required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed some graduate level coursework in biostatistics, epidemiology, or public health, and have proficiency in R statistical software.
- Experience in working with electronic health record and administrative datasets is a plus.
