Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of a Research Staff Assistant. The position is in a neuroscience laboratory performing state-of-the-art research linking neural circuits to function, including studies of learning, sensory processing, and motor behavior in electric fish and mice.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Animal colony management
- Assist PI and senior researchers with ongoing research projects by performing histology, microscopy, behavioral studies, and stereotaxic surgeries in mice
- Perform General Lab duties such as making reagents and solutions
- Supporting purchases of lab equipment and supplies, sustaining lab inventories, and ensuring timely maintenance of lab equipment
Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a science-related Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) years of previous experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Prior research laboratory experience is highly desired.
