Position Summary
This position is supervised by Dr. Vidhu Thaker, Pediatric Endocrinologist with research focus on early childhood obesity. Our team conducts sponsored and non-sponsored clinical trials for genetic and other rare forms of obesity. We also undertake observational study to understand the biological bases of early childhood obesity that includes both genetics and environment. The responsibilities include IRB regulatory work, conducting clinical study visits, coordinating the clinical trial with the study sponsor or collaborators, handling study samples, data entry, and simple data analysis.

Responsibilities
- Perform IRB regulatory submissions: write and edit project summary protocols and consent forms; update the protocols for modifications and renewals when necessary.
- Work closely with Principal Investigator (PI) conducting clinical study visits; screen charts, recruit and consent subjects in-person for multiple clinical research studies.
- Coordinate the clinical trial with the study sponsor or collaborators; conduct clinical interviews with study patients using study-specific assessments, including vitals, review of medical history.
- Handle study samples, perform data entry, and simple data analysis from Excel and SPSS databases.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters' degree and experience working with medical field for at least 2 years.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
