Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager will support the manager and management team within the WSH Department in all matters pertaining to Safety Management and Training. He/she will be responsible for the development and implementation of the WSH program to support the management of WSH risks.

He/she is expected to work with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish his/her work. The Assistant Manager is expected to be analytical, resourceful and have good teamwork and collaborative skills to solve problems.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Safety policies, procedures, management system and practices.
• Develop and maintain workplace safety initiatives and programs or ad hoc projects with other WSH team members and stakeholders to ensure on time program execution.
• Prepare and conduct internal and external audits relating to ISO45001 program.
• Maintain WSH related database (such as WSH Intranet Portal, online incident report portal etc.) and web related application/ system.
• Analyze WSH performance metrics and review incident trends on weekly or monthly basis so that appropriate hierarchy of control measures can be rationalize where WSH risk is highest. This include preparing bi-weekly report/ dashboard for stakeholders.
• Lead and/or organize property wide WSH events and activities internally and/or with other departments to promote workplace safety and health.
• Organize and assist in workplace safety and health training requirements.
• Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certification

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in any field, preferably in Engineering.
• Level C certificate in WSH is a must.
• Able to obtain ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certification within 1 year of employment.

Experience

• At least 4-5 year(s) of working experience in WSH.
• Good working knowledge of ISO 45001 and Safe Management Measures.
• Working experience in project management and Data analytic tools (example: Power BI) would be an advantage.

Competencies

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer experience, project management and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective in problem analysis and decision making – identifying problems, recognizing symptoms, root causes, making timely and sound decisions.
• Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and challenges.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
