ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) is on the lookout for an experienced Marketing Automation Product Owner. You will bring deep Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE) technical capability together with a genuine understanding of B2B marketing programs and the commercial intent behind them. You will not just build what is asked — you will bring your own thinking to how lifecycle marketing programs can be improved, while retaining ownership of that work through the full delivery cycle.

Where marketing programs connect to Salesforce Sales Cloud, you will own that interface: translating requirements into well-formed delivery items, participating in CRM agile ceremonies, and driving their work through refinement, sprint, testing and production sign-off within the Global Corporate CRM delivery model. Marketing retains ownership of its priorities and plans; this role ensures they are delivered with the same rigour as any CRM product initiative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is accountable for end-to-end delivery, including downstream impacts on Sales, Customer Success and Onboarding teams. Where a marketing automation initiative creates change management, communication or training requirements for non-marketing CRM users, this role owns that follow-through — engaging Solution Architects and the CRM Enablement & Support team as collaborators rather than handing the work over.

1. MCAE Platform Ownership

This is the primary technical accountability. The role owns the MCAE platform end-to-end — not just as an administrator responding to requests, but as the product owner of a critical marketing infrastructure platform.

  • Administer, configure, and optimise Salesforce MCAE as the primary marketing automation platform for FCM, Corporate Traveller, and FCTG's other corporate brands globally
  • Develop and maintain a proactive operational plan: platform health monitoring, maintenance schedule, release and change management calendar
  • Build and manage marketing automation rules and in-platform technical programs which support successful email campaigns, nurture flows, lead scoring, segmentation, and lifecycle journeys — in direct collaboration with the marketing team
  • Bring a point of view: proactively identify opportunities to improve program design, automation logic, and platform utilisation — not just execute briefs
  • Own email deliverability management: monitor leading indicators, manage sender reputation, and work with email service providers proactively rather than reactively; partnering with the lifecycle marketers on best practices to maintain deliverability levels
  • Maintain data governance and quality within MCAE, including segmentation standards, consent management, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and relevant regional regulations
  • Own vendor management for MCAE and related integrations — manage the Salesforce relationship and any delivery or data partners

2. MCAE–Sales Cloud Integration & Delivery

MCAE and Salesforce Sales Cloud are tightly connected. This role is the owner of that interface — technically and from a delivery perspective.

  • Maintain and optimise the integration between MCAE and Sales Cloud: data synchronisation, lead/contact lifecycle, campaign attribution, and field mapping
  • Proactively monitor integration health and anticipate dependency risks before they become issues
  • Translate marketing program requirements into well-formed delivery items for the Sales Cloud CRM stream — owning the requirement from initial brief through to production sign-off
  • Participate in Global Corporate CRM agile ceremonies as a full delivery contributor: backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives — not as a stakeholder, but as an owner of in-flight work
  • Execute testing in sandbox environments and sign off CRM work before production deployment, following the same quality standards as the broader Global Corporate CRM Product team
  • Contribute to post-production validation testing (PVT) for any work that affects marketing systems or data

3. Marketing Business Partnership

This role is the bridge between what the marketing team wants to achieve and what gets built. That requires more than taking a brief — it requires genuine marketing understanding and the confidence to contribute a perspective.

  • Work directly with the Lifecycle Marketing team to understand program intent and/or business problems, not just technical requirements — ask the right questions and challenge assumptions constructively
  • Translate marketing strategy and campaign objectives into platform requirements and delivery items and/or optimisations
  • Participate actively in marketing planning cycles to ensure technical feasibility, platform constraints, and build complexity are understood before commitments are made
  • Act as the marketing team's technical authority — the person who can represent their platform and its capabilities in conversations with CRM, IT, and product teams
  • Train and upskill marketing team members on MCAE capabilities, building team confidence and reducing dependency on the role for routine tasks

4. Roadmap & Prioritisation Contribution

Marketing has a genuine stake in how the connected MCAE–Sales Cloud platform evolves. This role ensures that stake is represented in the right conversations.

  • Contribute the marketing automation perspective to the Salesforce Global Corporate CRM product roadmap — particularly where MCAE capabilities, data flows, or lifecycle programs intersect with Sales Cloud direction
  • Work with the Head of Lifecycle Marketing to maintain a forward view of marketing program and platform priorities
  • Participate in cross-team prioritisation discussions, representing the marketing team's delivery agenda while operating within shared delivery constraints
  • Identify platform improvement opportunities proactively and bring them to the roadmap conversation with a clear view of effort, value, and dependency

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing automation or CRM technical roles
  • Salesforce MCAE (Account Engagement) Specialist certification
  • Salesforce Administrator or Sales Cloud experience
  • Experience in a B2B marketing environment
  • Agile delivery experience (e.g. Jira or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing programs and automation strategies
  • Experience with email deliverability, segmentation, and campaign automation
  • Knowledge of data governance, consent management, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with cross-functional CRM or product teams

Preferred:

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Email Specialist certification
  • Product Owner or Business Analyst experience
