About the Role:

As an experienced and proactive Senior Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on the Landmark Water Security Project in NSW. The project will involve a $32M major infrastructure upgrade that will help secure long-term water supply for communities in Central West NSW.

10:4 roster (Days) + Project Uplift – Located 2 hours from Dubbo/ 40 min from Nyngan.

Suitable candidates' accommodation will be provided, plus a 20% uplift.

In addition to working with a skilled and efficient team, the selected candidate will have continuous project exposure, facilitating the further development of technical and project management skills. The candidate will also have the opportunity to get exposure to tender bids and submissions. 

Work Involved

This project involves the construction and upgrade of three major pump stations across Nyngan and Hermidale, including new river intakes, balance tanks, surge vessels, and mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cost-effective construction methodologies and identify improvement areas.
  • Track project finances, review costs vs. budget, and highlight margin impacts.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues.
  • Understand project scope and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare variations, claims, and subcontract agreements.
  • Plan procurement activities, organise labour and equipment for supervisors.
  • Ensure materials and services meet QA requirements.
  • Develop ITPs/ITCs, monitor quality plans, and ensure compliance.
  • Assess risks, implement hazard controls, and support incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through pre-starts and toolbox talks.
  • Review CEMP and environmental procedures before work begins.
  • Maintain QA documentation, manage project closeout, and finalize defect claims.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4+ years Project Engineering experience in the Construction Industry (Civil, Utilities, and Water Infrastructure projects highly desirable).
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Strong in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A
