THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking an organised and proactive Permits Officer to join our growing Knockdown Rebuild team based in our modern Collins Square office in Melbourne’s CBD.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the home building journey, managing permit applications and approvals that help bring our customers’ dream homes to life. Working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including councils, engineers, developers and building surveyors to ensure applications progress efficiently and within required timeframes.

As part of a passionate and supportive team, you will enjoy variety in your day, the opportunity to build strong industry relationships and exposure to the end-to-end pre-construction process within the dynamic KDRB space.

Some responsibilities of this role include:

• Apply for Dispensations
• Maintain permits workflow reports
• Review and check MCP/ developer guidelines
• Checking of plans
• Review permit applications
• Liaise with internal and external clients and stakeholders such as councils, building surveyors, engineers and developers on a day-to-day basis

WHO YOU ARE

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on managing multiple priorities at once. Ideally, you will bring experience in a similar role within the residential construction or related industry, along with an understanding of building regulations, permit procedures and construction systems.

You are confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and enjoy building strong working relationships both internally and externally. With a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, you can work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage deadlines are essential, as is competency across Microsoft Office programs. Most importantly, you take pride in delivering a high level of customer service and enjoy being part of a team that helps customers achieve their dream of home ownership.
