A bit about the role

On a day-to-day basis, you will maintain the main kitchen and kitchen hubs within Bunjil Place as well as catering drops to meeting rooms around Bunjil Place. This will involve replenishing tea and coffee stations as well as setup and pack down of function and meeting room spaces.

In addition, you will work under the supervision of the Head Chef and Function and Events Supervisor in the kitchen performing kitchen hand duties.

What you’ll deliver

  • Basic kitchen hand assistance such as food prep and café orders, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing equipment and kitchen surfaces.
  • Set up and pack down function rooms including table settings, chairs, stages, dance floors and other equipment.
  • Receive food deliveries, stock take and rotate products in the storeroom, cool room and retail bars.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, function equipment and rooms.

What you’ll bring

  • Kitchen experience and a Certificate in Hospitality is advantageous.
  • Basic meal preparation experience and understanding of kitchen hygiene practices.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift objects and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Advanced First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Food Safety Handler Level 1 or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment.
