A bit about the role
You will support the effective management and reduction of litter and illegally dumped rubbish within the municipality by ensuring timely and detailed background investigations and efficient management of multiple requests.
This role will provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers in relation to litter and dumped rubbish.
What you’ll deliver
- Investigate and process litter and illegal dumping reports, including desktop and field investigations, to support compliance actions.
- Prepare draft EPA notices and infringement documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor surveillance footage and manage data using systems like Technology One, OneCouncil, and Microsoft tools.
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Litter Prevention Team.
- Engage and educate the community and stakeholders on litter prevention, EPA legislation, and proper waste disposal practices.
- Professional support to Department Manager when required to prepare reports and manage correspondence.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in a customer service and/or waste management/operational role or similar.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to convey information clearly through written and oral communication
- Curious mind, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office package, Technology One and other software applications
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
