The Senior Community Facilities Officer plays a key role in fostering inclusive, connected communities across the Southwest local area of Casey. Centred around community facilities such as the Cranbourne West Community Hub and other family and community centres, the position champions local engagement, supports community-led initiatives, and strengthens relationships with community service organisations and diverse groups. While overseeing bookings and administration remains part of the role, the primary focus is on enabling vibrant community activity, facilitating access to shared spaces, and nurturing partnerships that enhance wellbeing and social cohesion. The role requires travel between centres to support place-based development and ensure consistent support across the locality.
A bit about the role
As a Senior Community Facilities Officer, you’ll be at the heart of bustling and dynamic community centres, ensuring smooth daily operations, meaningful community connections and enhancing the customer experience. Using community development principles, you’ll drive engagement and deliver programs that build capacity and foster a strong sense of belonging. In this leadership role, you’ll also support your team by providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to both staff and volunteers.
You will be responsible for maintaining essential information and data to support funding submissions, reports, and other required materials. Additionally, you will help promote awareness of these facilities by maintaining publications, including print materials and digital content, to highlight activities, programs, and functions that benefit the local community.
This role is customer facing and requires availability three days a week, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
