A bit about the role
Empowered by the Manager, Child Youth and Family and ongoing investment in Maternal and Child Health, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership in the delivery of all aspects of Universal and Specialist services. This service works at pace to support a growing, diverse community with varying complexities.
Your responsibilities will include long term service planning, governance and management of the Universal and Specialist Service Leads and Clinical Educator, who provide service delivery oversight and clinical leadership to support and strengthen a positive culture in our growing, expert workforce.

What you’ll deliver
- Oversee all aspects of the strategic operations of the Universal and Specialist service delivery
- Develop strong connections with stakeholders and the sector to facilitate a partnership approach to service delivery.
- Use evidence and data to analyse trends, identify service gaps and opportunities, optimise service planning, advocacy and partnership priorities.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency to enhance service delivery and community impact.
- Foster a high-performing team culture by embedding a collaborative leadership model that drives role clarity, accountability, and capability development.
What you’ll bring
- Strong leadership experience in Maternal and Child Health, including managing people leaders
- Demonstrated ability to create an environment where staff are involved, valued, engaged and clear on shared goals.
- Commitment to collaboration and consultation, including proven success in cross functional cooperation
- Sound understanding of economic, political and social issues relating to the Local Government environment, with the ability to identify trends and implications
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, ensuring staff and stakeholders are engaged, informed, and supported.
- Financial and operational acumen with the ability to effectively manage and deliver budget, including forecasting and resource planning.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, and an accredited postgraduate degree/diploma as recognised in Victoria to practice in Maternal and Child Health.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Psychometric Testing, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
