A bit about the role

This role will support the strategic planning, delivery and performance of the City of Casey’s multi-million dollar Capital Works Program.

Working within the City and Asset Planning Department, you’ll support project managers across the organisation to uplift their project management capabilities, improve capital works performance outcomes, and reduce Capital Works budget carry forward.

If you have a strong background in infrastructure/capital works project delivery, proven experience in capital portfolio/program support, and a passion for driving continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide support to the Infrastructure Project Hub and infrastructure Project Managers and Project Sponsors to drive collaboration across the organisation, including with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), to uplift project management practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the annual Capital Works Program budgeting process by planning and structuring projects for successful delivery.
  • Identify, develop and implement strategies and processes to improve project execution and reduce program carry forward.
  • Provide expert guidance to infrastructure project managers to strengthen their project management practices in line with Casey’s Project Management Framework (PMF).
  • Investigate at-risk projects and develop intervention strategies to bring them back on track.
  • Conduct stage gate reviews and reporting to ensure project compliance, visibility, and performance tracking across the infrastructure portfolio.
  • Champion the use of the Project Management tool.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and uplift project management capability across teams to foster a high-performance, project-driven culture.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualifications in Infrastructure Project Management, Portfolio/Program Management, or a related field, or extensive experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Proven experience in delivering and supporting capital works programs or projects, and uplifting project management capability across an organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and implement strategies that influence project and program outcomes.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to build productive relationships and support cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) and a current Driver’s Licence. Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
