About the Role
This role leads the delivery and impact of community engagement programs, grants, platforms and active recreation initiatives across the municipality.
It also drives partnerships and strategies that empower residents and strengthen the capacity of community groups and organisations to meet local needs.
What You’ll deliver
- Provide strategic leadership for Council’s grants, sponsorships and funded agency agreements, ensuring effective governance and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community service organisations to enhance collaboration and improve community outcomes.
- Oversee major Council programs that support volunteering, community leadership, sector capability building, and access to sport and active recreation.
- Lead strategic planning and evaluation of community support services using Council policy frameworks, while managing program resources and budgets.
- Drive community value through partnerships, coordinated responses to community needs, and oversight of community information and support services, with occasional after‑hours availability.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in health, community development, sports management or related fields (preferred but not mandatory).
- Post‑graduate qualifications or specialisation in relevant areas are advantageous.
- Experience in Local Government, Community Services or Community Development sectors is preferred.
- Skills or background in grant management, policy development, health promotion and social outcome delivery are beneficial.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Psychometric Testing.
