About the Role
Join our team delivering high-quality, compliant and value-driven procurement outcomes across Council. This is a key advisory role where you will partner with internal stakeholders, lead strategic procurements, and uplift procurement capability across the organisation.
What You’ll deliver
Work closely with business units to:
- Deliver end-to-end procurement activities, from planning through to contract execution
- Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement and contract management matters
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans aligned to business needs
- Lead sourcing activities and negotiate with suppliers to achieve value for money
- Ensure all procurement activity is compliant, transparent and risk-managed
- Build strong stakeholder relationships under a business partnering model
- Contribute to policy development, system improvements, and capability uplift across Council
What You’ll Bring
This role will utilise your combined technical procurement expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience delivering source-to-contract procurement activities in a complex environment
- Ability to interpret contracts and lead negotiations confidently
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to challenge and add value
- Excellent communication, influencing and advisory skills
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement practices preferred
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check
