About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Casey’s Activity Centres and delivering Casey’s strategic vision for growth and development. delivering Casey's strategic vision for growth and development.
As a Senior Strategic Planner, you'll lead and contribute to complex planning projects that influence the future of our activity centres, communities and employment precincts. You'll work collaboratively with government agencies, developers, consultants, businesses and community stakeholders to create vibrant, sustainable and economically successful places.
From structure planning and planning scheme amendments to place-based strategies and policy development, you'll help drive innovative planning outcomes that support Casey's continued growth while enhancing liveability for our residents and businesses.

What You’ll deliver
- Lead the preparation and implementation of strategic planning projects, policies, structure plans and planning scheme amendments
- Develop innovative place-based strategies that strengthen activity centres, attract investment and support economic growth
- Manage complex planning projects including consultant engagement, stakeholder collaboration and community consultation
- Provide expert strategic planning advice and negotiate positive outcomes with developers and key stakeholders
- Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, advocacy materials and recommendations for Council, Executive Leadership and external planning forums
- Represent Council at Planning Panels, VCAT proceedings and stakeholder forums
- Analyse demographic, housing, employment and growth trends to inform policy and strategic decision-making
- Be part of a progressive and supportive strategic planning team delivering city-shaping outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or Diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Urban Geography or a related discipline
- Significant experience in strategic land use planning, ideally within a local government or growth planningenvironment
- Strong knowledge of the Victorian planning system, planning policy and statutory planning processes
- Experience delivering complex strategic planning projects and stakeholder engagement programs
- Exceptional analytical, report writing, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build productive relationships and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
