About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to help shape how one of Australia's fastest-growing councils adopts AI, automation and emerging technologies.

You'll play a leading role in delivering Casey’s newly established AI and Automation Program, which will be the primary focus of this position. You’ll also support other planned system implementation, automation, digital uplift and technology-enabled service improvement projects as required. From strategy and planning through to implementation and benefits realisation, you'll partner with business leaders, technology specialists and vendors to deliver practical solutions that improve services and create measurable value.

Key opportunities include:

  • Shaping a greenfield AI and Automation Program.
  • Delivering enterprise-wide technology and digital transformation projects.
  • Influencing responsible AI adoption across Council.
  • Working with executive sponsors to drive innovation and service improvement.

You'll bring together business, technology and governance stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, to scope and in accordance with Casey's project management framework and governance requirements.

  • Bring together diverse teams across business, technology, data, cyber security, privacy and procurement to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and clarity in a fast-moving environment where priorities and delivery pathways continue to evolve.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a collaborative and commercially minded project leader who can turn complex ideas into practical outcomes.

Essential Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale technology, digital transformation, automation, system implementation or business improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects through the full lifecycle, from planning through to implementation and operational handover.
  • Experience working across business, technology, governance and vendor environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile AI project delivery methodologies such as, Scrum, Kanban, Lean frameworks, PMI-CPMAI, AI Native Foundations (SAFe) or equivalent.
  • Strong governance, financial management and procurement experience.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to undertake pre-employment checks, including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Working Rights verification.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • Delivered AI, automation or enterprise technology initiatives into live operational environments.
  • Led complex programs involving business leaders, technical specialists, governance functions and external vendors.
  • Successfully navigated ambiguity, shifting priorities and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Balanced innovation with governance, cyber security, privacy and operational requirements.
  • Embedded new technologies that delivered measurable business outcomes and lasting organisational value.
  • Experience within local government, public sector or another large, complex organisation.
