The Maternal and Child Health service is the largest in Victoria, providing quality services to families and parents to support child health, well-being and development.
The range of leading services includes First Time Parents Groups, Lactation Support, Enhanced Maternal and Child Health and leading, evidence-based workshops in Sleep & Settling, and Introduction to Solids.
About the Role
To meet the growing needs of our community, the City of Casey is seeking experienced Maternal and Child Health Nurses to work across various MCH centres on a casual basis. This opportunity offers flexibility while playing a vital role in supporting the evolving needs of our community and service delivery.
You will play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing and development of children aged 0-3 years and their families. Through the delivery of evidence-based information, advice, support and referrals, you will empower families to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children.
Drawing on your exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, you will promote child health, safety, learning and development while supporting parents and carers to navigate the challenges and opportunities of early childhood. Taking a holistic and family-centred approach, you will consider the physical, emotional, social and environmental factors that influence wellbeing, helping families thrive within our diverse and contemporary community.
What You’ll deliver
- Evidence-informed practice and high-quality, safe and inclusive Maternal and Child Health Services
- Counselling and support in a non-judgmental safe environment
- Health education and support groups
- Current best practice knowledge to support families with the latest information
What You’ll Bring
- A commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice whilst being flexible and responsive to the changing needs of families and the MCH Service.
- An ability to deliver a service that is client focused, professional and evidence based.
- Post graduate qualification in Child and Family Health as recognised in Victoria to Practice MCH
- Current AHPRA Registration as Division 1 Nurse and Midwife
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
