About the Role
Are you passionate about empowering young people and contributing to meaningful change in the community? As our Youth Partnerships Team Leader, you will lead the strategic development of municipality-wide youth initiatives and create opportunities for young people to actively participate in decisions that affect them. Through collaborative engagement and strong partnerships, you will support initiatives that create opportunities for young people to participate, to share their perspectives and contribute to planning, service delivery and community outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to champion youth voice, strengthen civic participation and help shape a more inclusive future for young people across the municipality.
What You’ll deliver
- Drive the strategic development and implementation of youth initiatives that respond to growth, emerging needs and the aspirations of young people.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships across government, education, industry and community sectors to deliver collaborative and scalable outcomes for young people
- Embed meaningful youth engagement, ensuring young people's perspectives inform strategies, services, programs and decision-making processes.
- Provide leadership, coaching and capability development to a specialised Youth Services team, fostering innovation, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Use data, research and trend analysis to shape strategic responses, oversee program governance and budgets, and deliver measurable community impact.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience using a systems approach to youth services, identifying opportunities to influence policy, programs and partnerships across the broader service ecosystem to improve outcomes for young people.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to engage, influence and bring stakeholders on board around a shared vision, fostering commitment and participation across Council, community and partner organisations.
- A track record of designing or leading innovative youth or community programs, coupled with a commitment to amplifying young people's voices and participation.
- Knowledge of contemporary community engagement and participation frameworks, including an understanding of levels of influence and decision-making, and the ability to design approaches that inform, consult, involve and collaborate with young people.
- Tertiary qualification in youth services, social work, community development, public policy, health promotion or a related discipline, with a demonstrated understanding of strategic planning or partnership management.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check
