About the Role:

This is a ‘hands on’ analytical & strategic role with high visibility across the business. The purpose is to drive the development of Momentum Energy’s Insights & Analytics capability, and to uncover and deliver relevant, timely and actionable analytics and insights to guide decision-making in the business.

• Hold an ‘Internal Consultancy’ mind set
• Liaise with key internal business stakeholders to identify and understand insights needs
• Utilise technical expertise to undertake analytics work, providing a fact base for stakeholders
• Manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
• Take responsibility for deep data analysis to proactively identify insights from both a risk and opportunity perspective
• Leverage strong presentation skills to communicate the key message or ‘tell a story’ using data, insights & analytics
• Utilise an array of techniques/methodologies to contribute to the analytical components of Momentum’s strategy
• Provide forecasts and projections for relevant business & external metrics, often operating under ambiguity
• Support the development of Momentum’s self-service reporting and insights dashboards and reports.
• Be a key contributor/influencer in Momentum Energy’s value streams
• Identify, pilot and evaluate opportunities using data & insights to inform decision making and prioritisation

About You and Your Experience:

• Experience working within a data and analysis driven culture, and demonstrable experience in driving value from analytics.
• Experience with data analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Python, etc.)
• Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques such as classification, regression and other data science techniques. 
• Experience working with cross functional teams and partnering with colleagues to understand issues, and implement appropriate solutions
• High level of expertise with data access and manipulation tools and techniques.
• Demonstrable interpersonal skills, including active listening, negotiation and influencing, facilitation of meetings and workshops, and customer relationship management
• Ability to work closely with senior management
• Strategic thinking with a commitment to continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with experience presenting to senior management
• Experience in energy retail markets
