A permanent full time position commencing 19 May 2025.

The Canteen Manager is responsible to the Principal for the provision of an effective canteen service by:

  • Complying with WHS and Food Safety Standards requirements.
  • Implementing the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy including creating a nutritious menu that encourages healthy eating, offers a cost-effective service to families and yields positive profit margins.
  • Providing a friendly and welcoming environment for students, staff and volunteers.
  • Planning, organising and monitoring the day to day operations of the canteen including the induction, training and rostering of voluntary workers.
  • Ordering, purchasing and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets and confirm accuracy for timely payment of accounts.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the handling, preparation, serving and storage of food.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Knowledge of Healthy Canteen strategies and Food Safety Standards.
  • Experience with online ordering systems.
  • Experience in food service operations including online ordering, stock control and cash handling/Eftpos procedures.
  • Computer skills including Google Suite. 
  • Ability to recognise confidential issues and to represent the school in an honest, ethical and professional way.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Familiarity with Tech One and Compass systems.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
