The Governance and Legal Team supports the organisation to deliver on its objectives by providing governance, legal, insurance and records management advice. Further the Operations Team supports the maintenance of the Civic Centre and Ibis buildings and the effective running of the offices and meetings. 

About the Position

This position provides high level administrative and business support to the Governance and Legal Services teams within the broader Corporate Governance and Legal Branch.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated record of delivering administrative and business support activities that contribute to the success of business units
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various software systems, including Microsoft suite, financial management systems and document management systems
  • Experience working within a regulatory environment, including a working knowledge and understanding of legislation, policies and internal procedures
  • Ability to apply discretion and exercise initiative to support improved service delivery
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritise workload
  • Good communication skills to build relationships and deliver outcomes

Requirements

  • Experience in various administrative functions, ideally within a legal or governance environment
  • Experience in financial administrative duties
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite including the ability to generate reports
  • Experience in local government or other government or regulatory bodies is desirable
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check (if applicable)
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
