About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for an experienced IT Service Manager accountable for overseeing the strategic planning, management, and optimisation of IT services across CSPD. This role will meet the needs of the organisation through a focus on service excellence, user satisfaction and continual service improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement IT service management strategies, and lead initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of IT Services, ensuring they are designed and managed to meet business and operational requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimisation, innovation to meet evolving needs and improve user satisfaction
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for IT services, conducting regular reviews to assess service levels, identify gaps and implement improvements
  • Develop IT service management policies and standards to ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the use of methodologies and tools for business process improvement and risk management, identifying solutions, assessing feasibility, and coordinating contingency planning
  • Manage relationships with relevant external service providers, negotiating contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) to support CSPD’s strategic objectives
  • Oversee change and release management activities, ensuring IT service changes are planned, tested and implemented with minimal disruption to operations

Typical experience and qualifications:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area of IT or Business study
  • An ITIL v3 or v4 certification, at the Intermediate or Expert level, is a must!
  • Management and leadership experience, ideally in running a service management function
  • Stakeholder management experience in a complex organisational setting
  • Strong negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
  • Deep experience in managing an enterprise IT Service Management platform
