About the Role

This role will be responsible for supporting the Head of SME Audit (Enabling Functions) to deliver internal audits and related activities, with a particular focus on Public Interest Disclosure (PID) matters, in accordance with icare’s Internal Audit standards and other procedural requirements.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as an Audit Advisor you will:

  • Under the guidance of the Head of SME Audit (Enabling Functions), provide advice to leaders around the escalation of Public Interest Disclosure (PID) matters, accounting for applicable legislation, processes, and procedures.
  • Support the Head of SME Audit (Enabling Functions), in managing icare’s obligation under the Reporting Wrongdoing Policy, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation.
  • Gather data for reports, draft executive briefs, and corporate documentation in relation to the status of Public Interest Disclosure (PID) matters.
  • Support the preparation of reports that are factually accurate, insightful, and concise to improve the control environment at icare.
  • Engage and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including management, service providers and external parties to achieve effective outcomes that support the implementation of icare policies relating to Public Interest Disclosure (PID), e.g. ensure deliverables are clearly articulated and potential variances promptly identified and addressed.
  • Under the guidance of the Head of SME Audit (Enabling Functions), provide support to icare as the centre of excellence for Public Interest Disclosure (PID) related matters.
  • Assist Audit Managers and the Internal Audit Leadership Team in delivering fit for purpose outcomes on audit and non-audit related activities.
  • Ensure the correct quality outcome is achieved in a timely manner escalating all potential delays accordingly.
  • Assist with the project management of audits and participate in special projects and various ad-hoc activities as required.
  • Monitor reviews on remediation actions and follow-up as necessary to ensure they have been effectively addressed.
  • Propose ideas for developing documentation that formalises the internal audit framework for icare.
  • Contribute to activities relating to internal investigations as required.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual risk-based audit plan to ensure the plan is relevant to the needs of the business and the outcomes are integrated into the plan.
  • Continuously improve and build on processes both within the Internal Audit unit and business areas being audited.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Pre-Employment Checks
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Exposure to audit, risk, governance related activities in the insurance / financial services industry or government sector.
  • Previous experience in conduct and integrity in the financial services industry or government sector
