Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as an Injury Management Specialist you will:
- Work directly with claims specialists as part of a team to deliver the icare customer experience.
- Assess worker injuries and develop injury management strategies tailored to specific customer needs.
- Encourage proactive and open communication with key stakeholders during decision making process.
- Provide regular advice and feedback to frontline claims staff and Team Leaders on adverse decisions relating to injury management (treatment, services, medication etc).
- Improve overall quality of decisions relating to treatment/services and communication through effective training, quality reviews and management of disputes.
- Participate and provide injury management support in employer claims reviews (if required).
- Report to the Injury Management community and contribute to practice and professional development initiatives
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology or Exercise Science) -essential
- Mental health first aid certificate -essential
- A broad range of experience in injury management with focus on mental health, medically complex cases or fatalities.
- Experience in creating solutions and problem solving.
- Demonstrated experience in Injury management, particularly high risk significant injury claims
