About the Role

This exciting opportunity is in the team that supports workers compensation schemes. You will operate at a Senior level to provide analysis, support and functional leadership for the Actuarial Team. This role also works collaboratively with Internal/External Customers, Stakeholders and Vendor/ Service providers to develop innovative solutions to problems and support best practice actuarial work.

You will also be a part of an actuarial team that is crucial in ensuring that icare operates in a sustainable financially sound manner and is trusted in providing sound financial advice to the Executive Team.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Actuary you will:

  • Leading a team of actuarial professionals to provide analytics and actuarial advice to a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
  • Assist in the development of strategy and contribute to financial sustainability by forecasting various financial situations and analysing possible outcomes
  • Communicate complex actuarial and analytical modelling and results to stakeholders at a variety of levels across the organisation and externally
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to deliver reserving and financial reporting.
  • Evaluate and enhance the reporting of performance metrics of the entities managed by icare including process improvements and risk mitigation
  • Provide analytics and actuarial insights to business initiatives /projects

Skills & Experience

  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent qualification) or comparable experience
  • You will hold a Tertiary qualification at degree level in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another relevant field
  • Proven working experience in either leading an Actuarial team and leading projects or working in an Actuarial role
  • Extensive General insurance/injury scheme experience is vital
