About the role

Reporting to the Chief Estimator of the Region for BMD’s Urban Division, you will contribute towards preparing estimates for minor infrastructure projects and urban development projects throughout South East Queensland up to $70 million. We are looking for someone that is looking to transition from being site-based to an office-based role. You will lead the estimates by obtaining prices and overseeing quotes from sub-contractors whilst preparing an estimate from First Principles. You will also collaborate with delivery staff to ensure that a detailed and properly analysed tender is submitted to continuously win projects for BMD Urban.

Duties

• To assist in the preparation of tenders and develop the teams skills associated with estimating
• Analyse all quotations for the supply of materials, plant, sub-contractors and select the quotations that reflect the best outcome for the tender.
• Ensuring that all schedules which are part of the tender submission are completed in line with the requirements of the tender documents.
• Seek input from the construction site staff to ensure that the best possible information is incorporated into the tender.

Skills & Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in Estimating
• Experience in preparing estimates from First Principles
• Experience in Expert Estimation
• Project delivery experience isn’t required but will be highly regarded
• Effective, concise and appropriate communication to all stakeholders.
