Who we’re looking for

We’re growing! As a result, we’re looking for someone keen to capitalise on a unique opportunity to join our new Audit and Compliance team.  This is a new role in a new team and we’re looking to do something different in our approach to assurance at BMD through the use of data and AI.  As an entrepreneurial organisation with an exciting future, the opportunities for this role are exciting.  Reporting to the Group Manager Audit and Compliance, as a natural relationship builder with excellent communication and technical skills, you will help shape our data driven future.

Our Data Assurance and AI team works with our business in a multitude of ways. This may be complex recalculations of business process outcomes or developing bespoke solutions to specific problems. We work with high volumes of transactional level data encompassing all business processes, taking a commercial approach to management risk and the application of control.  We are looking to apply our data to efficiently manage our business and deliver insights to our executives and owners across multiple industries, operating units and countries.  You will also be a lead advocate for the application of AI in our business control processes.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

  • Data Analytics/Data Visualisation.
  • Visualisation software i.e. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI and knowledge of data analysis & data manipulation products i.e. SQL, ACL, R, SAS or SaaS applications.
  • Change management and influencing stakeholders.
  • Developing reporting frameworks and the application of automation.

The successful candidate will be an experienced self-starter with:

  • Experience in internal controls, audit, risk management, and compliance are highly desirable
  • Proficiency with solutions for business intelligence products (Power BI etc) and willingness to further develop these skills
  • Technical ability to extract and analyse complex data sets from multiple sources, data platforms or databases, to identify data related risks and build reports for risk and compliance reporting
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical thinking and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Computer Science (or a related field), is a plus but not required.
