About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Advisor with a specific focus on acting as a Business Partner to the health and safety, sustainability, and corporate affairs departments. This role will form part of the Group Marketing and Communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for internal stakeholder engagement, developing and implementing operational initiatives, and ensuring a thorough understanding of systems and policy. This role requires experience working across a large, complex organisation, including a remote workforce, and driving behavioural-based change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute communication strategies that promote health and wellbeing, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and teams to ensure alignment and support for communication efforts.
• Collaborate with various departments to implement operational initiatives that enhance safety and sustainability.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support on communication best practices related to health, safety, and sustainability.
• Effectively communicate and engage with a diverse and remote workforce across a large, complex organisation.
• Drive behavioural-based change through targeted communication strategies and initiatives.

Preferred Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of the construction industry including the importance of communicating across the fundamental areas of health and wellbeing, safety, and sustainability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
• Knowledge of relevant systems and policies.
• Experience working in a large, complex organisation, including managing communication with a remote workforce.
• Experience in driving behavioural-based change through communication.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within the infrastructure sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
