About the Role
Getting our people home safely to their families every day is our top priority, and your role is vital in influencing project teams to achieve health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) excellence.
We are seeking a experienced Health and Safety Manager to be Townsville based and oversee BMD Constructions major infrastructure projects across North Queensland.
Comfortable working in a large project team, you will be a natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills and ability to:
- Lead the development of health, safety and emergency management plans in line with client and BMD requirements.
- Engage and support project team, subcontractors and workforce to champion use of our systems, client requirements and industry best practice.
- Lead, coach and guide the project health and safety and supervision team.
- Plan and lead audits, frontline engagements and control verifications.
- Facilitate risk workshops and provide input to construction method statements.
- Lead health and safety innovations and initiatives based on data and key risks.
- Lead incident investigations and reviews.
- Identify and support training activities to build team capability.
- Provide advice and guidance to team on legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and influence at project management and frontline.
- Certificate IV in OSH/WHS (Diploma desirable).
- Demonstrable experience in the Queensland civil sector.
You may also have the following additional desirable skills:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
