Where does the role fit in?

Hales House is a Generic scheme, providing supported accommodation to people aged 16 and over. This service provides housing related support to assist our clients to move into independent living.

What is great about the role?

Hales House is cantered on the wants and needs of the people we support, and they are involved in how the scheme is run. The scheme is completely client-led and is viewed as their home.

Hales House is a great place to work; you’ll be surrounded by a supportive team with an abundance of knowledge and experience to share with you. You’ll also be working with incredible individuals, teaching them tenancy management skills, supporting them with qualifications, and providing any other support they may require.

 Your day will consist of:

  • As a Project Worker you will lead each shift by overseeing the Scheme Support Officers.
  • Engaging and interacting with our service users
  • Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
  • Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have

Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental. 

Who we are looking for:

Please demonstrate in your application form how you:

  • Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
  • Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills  
  • Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
  • Deal with difficult situations
  • Have good listening skills

It would be preferable if you have a driving licence & access to a vehicle. Although not essential, this would allow flexibility in regard to attending appointments etc.

Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities. You will also be paid an allowance of £51.11 for each sleep-in.

  • Part-time (17hrs), Permanent position
  • The salary based on these hours (17) is £11,979.03 (£26,072.00 FTE)
  • The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you would be expected to work on a 6-week rolling rota which would involve: days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • You will receive additional payment of £51.11 for sleep-ins.
