Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure that there are no torque escapes from site and that all measurement devices are calibrated as required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
There are 2 key responsibilities. Firstly, to complete torque audits, prevent non-compliant escapes from the facility, and support the production line for all torque related issues. Secondly, to edit the master calibration database for all measurement devices across all sites, seek the most efficient means of completing calibration tests, and ensure that all equipment is in calibration and ready for production use. The role requires the supplier management of external calibration suppliers. This includes getting quotations, raising purchasing requests, completing health and safety risk assessments for suppliers coming on site, and completing GRNs.
The role requires management of the tooling calibration database to ensure all our records for certification met are and storage and retrieval of all data is efficient.
Qualification & Experience:
- Basic understanding of why torque is measured, how it relates to mechanical joint design and function
- Hands on experience of taking torque measurements
- A basic understanding of the principles of calibration
- Hands on experience of calibration of automotive production gauges and tools
- Computer literacy including good knowledge of Excel.
- External calibration test house relationships.
- Statistical analysis of torque data
