Job Purpose:
Our Commercial Training Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of Aston Martin’s commercial training strategy. This role is critical in ensuring we provide a blended ultra-luxury training programme to our global dealer network for both Technical and Product based learning.
The Commercial Training Manager will have a focused customer experience mindset and will lead a team of subject matter training experts with responsibility for the complete management and growth of the Aston Marting training department.
As the Commercial Training Manager, you will be the driving force behind elevating the mindset, capabilities and passion of Aston Martin’s Dealer network, to deliver the pinnacle of luxury customer experiences. You will not only design the training vision and define excellence but ensure its practical execution through world class dealer enablement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Vision
- Create and deliver the overarching global commercial technical and product training curriculum to transition Aston Martins Dealer network into a true ultra luxury brand experience
- Translate Aston Martin’s aspirational brand vision into actionable training programmes that reshape the dealer mindset and service ethos
- Lead primary research (direct competitor and other industry leaders) to deeply understand motivations, gaps and opportunities in cultivating a luxury dealer culture
- Create leading blended training and learning strategies and programmes for deployment globally, both centrally and through the regions, as required
- Lead the deployment globally of the training curriculum to a defined programme roadmap on budget and agreed timelines
- Ensure Aston Martin’s Dealer compliance with learning and development programmes by working with and supporting regional dealer teams
- Personally facilitate flagship training that inspires lasting behavioral change, and emotional brand connection
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies to create powerful, and engaging learning experiences both physically and online
Program Management
- Define annual curriculum roadmaps and prioritise strategic training investments aligned with business objectives
- Own comprehensive management of the function spanning annual planning, budgeting, execution and effectiveness reviews
- Provide accurate and timely reporting relevant across company stakeholders
Transformational Leadership
- Cultivate strategic partnerships across Sales, Aftersales and Brand leadership tiers to infuse the training vision
- Attract, inspire and nurture a high performing dealer network base
- Instil emerging luxury and industry trends into the training discipline to retain competitive advantage
Experience and Qualifications
- Significant sales & marketing, aftersales or training experience in an automotive company, ideally in the luxury segment
- Experienced in design and delivery of blended training programmes, preferably within the luxury automotive space, from training needs analysis, curriculum scoping, training course design, facilitation/delivery and content platform management
- Experienced in leading and managing a team with diversity, breadth of experience and skill sets
- Comprehensive and proven project management skills
- Supplier negotiation and management
- Contract negotiation and capability essential
- Strong conceptual skills and strategic focus
- Relevant L&D specific qualifications e.g. Accredited training or teaching qualifications such as Degree or Diploma
Skills and Behaviours:
- Highly self-motivated, reliable, positive and enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable in approach
- Excellent people skills able to interact credibly and develop relationships with senior executives and partners
- Thorough understanding of training needs in the Dealer network, considering regional and cultural differences
- Experienced Microsoft Office suite user and experience with TMS/Academy software
