Department overview: 

The finance team is responsible for providing professional finance leadership to enable the delivery of the business objectives. The commercial and central finance team supports the decision making of the commercial and central functions by providing high quality and timely analysis.

Job Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to manage part of the commercial finance department to professionally deliver the business plan and budget. Responsible for advising and partnering with the commercial team for all key financial targets for sales, margin (gross and EBITDA) in all markets, as well as the central administrative teams in terms of budget management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Manage part of the Commercial Finance team – responsible for revenue, margin and cost analysis.
• Business Partner and trusted advisor to the Commercial Team (including but not limited to Regional Presidents and Marketing Directors to create detailed financial budgets and business plan inputs, ensuring business targets are met
• Responsibility for supporting the financial reporting for the Commercial Team and central administrative functions – providing insight, checks and balances to help challenge and influence key decision.
• Develop and manage financial reporting activities in support of regional operations including tracking and reporting of regional and dealer KPI’s as required
• Part of the decision-making process with Regional Presidents and Management teams to ensure regional profitability targets are understood and managed appropriately
• Develop a framework for rapid and sustainable growth in revenue and margins for Aston Martin Partnerships, Parts operations and Aston Martin Racing programmes (non-vehicle revenue streams).

Experience and Qualifications: 

Essential: 

• Experience of partnering with senior people and managers, business and financial analysis including the following discipline experiences; Sales and marketing, business profit analysis & budgeting, dealership financial management
• Global experience of different market complexities. Outward looking mind-set to understand customer and market requirements.
• Governance and internal controls experience to implement global commercial process (with regional adjustments).
• Degree level education.
• Excellent financial skills (including excel financial modelling).

Preferred: 

• Will have technical accounting and financial experience.
• Management experience in leading a team. 
• Capable of making presentations with confidence and clarity up to and including Operating/Executive Committees.
• Ability to present complex information in a structured, logical manner
• Professional Finance and or accounting qualification (including ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or necessary expertise gained by experience.

Required Skills and Behaviours: 

• Excellent verbal reasoning and communication skills.
• Takes the finance strategy, translates that into what needs to be achieved and develops the commercial finance plan for the in-year budget/forecast (1 year horizon).                                  
• Leads their team to make plans for the specialist area they advise on to achieve this, ensuring deliverables are met.
• Understands business & functional strategy and how that impacts their roles and translates that for their team.
