Department Overview:
Sales Planning link Gaydon to the Regional Sales Teams and Global Dealer Network. We set the sales targets, monitor orders received into the factory and provide support to our AML dealers all over the world.
Job Purpose:
To work within the Sales Planning Team to manage the planning, volume and forecasting reporting as well as developing robust reporting to facilitate decision making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support end-to-end volume planning process, ensuring data accuracy and alignment across commercial, supply chain and finance teams.
- Facilitate creation of reporting with focus on 24-month planning horizon, and support input to the medium and long term volume/ business plan.
- Maintain and enhance regular sales reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking tools, delivering timely and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of volume forecasts, using historical data, market trends, and inputs from cross-functional teams.
- Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision making, highlighting potential risks and opportunities
- Improve accuracy and ownership of commercial data across the business
- Be the key representative of the Commercial Sales function, to manage the further transition from current systems with IT and Production.
- Collate and review Regional data, translate this into analysis reports for Management, highlighting risks and opportunities with proposed strategy steps.
- Lead creation of supply data and reports for S&OP and Board presentations.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong numerate / analytical skills
- Experience of sales operations within an automotive context (or related industry)
- Understanding the importance of accuracy and repeatability in data reporting
- Design of coherent reporting outputs
- Manipulation of large quantities of disparate data into concise sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced MS Office, especially Excel and Access
- Proficient in VBA, both writing and reading
- Experience of ERP systems and their implementation
- Ability to understand and decipher requests with minimal supervision
Preferred:
- Cognos, Salesforce and Tableau
- Commercial Degree

- Excellent people skills; confident and outgoing, able to interact credibly and develop relationships with senior Aston Martin Manager / Directors, Regional teams and other AML functions
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, reliable, positive and enthusiastic, with a flexible and adaptable approach to tasks
- High attention to detail, accuracy and repeatability in data reporting
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of current and future model line up
- Detailed knowledge of data structure within the systems, the owners and rules engines
- Detailed knowledge of systems infrastructures to allow data cubes to be extracted to meet reporting requirements
