About Scope

Scope’s purpose is to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to belong and thrive. We support people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities to achieve their goals. Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.

About Your Role

Scope has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Weekend On Call Coordinator to work within the Accommodation Services Division.

The Weekend Coordinator provides remote, on-call support to Disability Support Workers (DSWs) by either providing real-time advice on urgent matters to on-duty Disability Support Workers (DSWs) or escalating the matter to Level 2 managers during weekends and on Public Holidays, when there is no Coordinator on duty.

The role includes a 3-hour period for administration and handover on a Friday afternoon (or appropriate weekday prior to a PH) followed by a period of on-call that spans the entire weekend, until ordinary duty commences at 9am on a Monday (or appropriate weekend).

Your Key Focus

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) – Accommodation, your role will focus on:

  • Providing expert on-call support to DSWs during weekends and public holidays, escalating issues to Level 2 managers when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all on-call activity, including the details of the matter, the advice provided, Level 2 escalations, and timing and duration of work performed.
  • Engaging in handover discussions with Coordinators to gain a strong awareness and understanding required to support each service within their division during the weekend.
  • Following Scope’s Policies and Procedures at all times, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the values and behaviors that are important to the successful operation of Scope’s business; the Scope Approach.

What We Look For

  • Strong experience in disability services with a solid understanding of developmental learning approaches, local community networks, and person-centered support.
  • Empathy and a strong commitment to supporting and empowering people with disabilities to achieve their goals.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and fostering effective communication across staff groups.
  • High-level IT proficiency to support independent, remote work across multiple systems.
  • Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and compliance with occupational health and safety and legal requirements.
  • Well-developed networking and communication skills to engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Qualifications in Business Management, Disability Studies, and Community Services or the like (desirable).
