About the Role
The Landscape Manager will ensure that all gardens and landscaped areas are well-maintained, thoughtfully designed, and responsive to the needs of our residents and staff. You will oversee garden maintenance, lead landscaping projects, and support sustainability initiatives while working closely with service teams, contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Garden Maintenance
- Coordinate regular garden care including irrigation, pest management, fertilisation, and seasonal tasks
- Recommend updates to landscaping that improve environmental sustainability and cost-effectiveness
- Manage gardening schedules across all Amana Living service locations
- Provide professional advice on landscaping and conservation matters
- Review and update approved plant selections for each site in consultation with stakeholders
- Conduct site visits to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement
Project Management
- Oversee the planning and completion of landscaping projects across sites
- Supervise and guide subcontracted landscaping teams
- Manage budgets, supplies, equipment, and timelines to ensure smooth delivery
- Ensure all work complies with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards
- Engage respectfully with residents, staff, contractors, and suppliers
- Monitor quality of work and address any concerns that arise during project delivery
Planning and Reporting
- Develop tailored landscaping plans based on site conditions and resident needs
- Prepare annual operational and capital gardening budgets
Continuous Improvement
- Keep up to date with industry practices and new ideas in horticulture and landscape design
- Actively look for ways to enhance garden areas and create more inviting spaces
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Management)
- Current National Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven experience managing both hardscape and softscape landscaping projects
- Strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, and project administration
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Clear and respectful verbal and written communication
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
Essential Requirements
- Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
- NDIS Screening Check
- Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations in line with Amana Living policies
- Valid Western Australian C Class Driver’s License
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks
