Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Sterilisation Technicians and Sterilisation Technician – Transporters to join our high-performing Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD) team. These roles support critical hospital operations and offer the opportunity to grow within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Regional CSSD Manager and supported by CSSD Supervisors, you will be trained in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMDs). You will be part of a friendly team and have the opportunity to work with the latest machinery in our brand-new state of the art CSSD Hub and Spoke Model. 

Sterilisation Technician – Transporter

This role combines sterilisation responsibilities with the transport and coordination of sterile RMDs across the hospital and other sites.

Key Skills:

• Road transport knowledge (e.g. traffic laws, safe vehicle operation)
• Manual handling and safety awareness
• Operate a vehicle mounted mechanical tailgate lifter
• Time and workload prioritisation
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas
• Sterilisation processes and equipment handling

Sterilisation Technician

Focused on end-to-end sterilisation procedures within the Central Sterilisation Services Department.

Key Skills:

• Understanding and experience in sterilisation reprocessing methods and equipment use
• Safety and hazard awareness
• Troubleshooting and adaptability
• Excellent time management and workload organisation
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and also independently when required
• Commitment to continuous improvement

Essential Criteria (for all applicants)

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (or willingness to complete)
• Availability to work a rotating AM/PM roster, including night shifts

Desirable Criteria (for all applicants)

• Previous CSSD experience
• Experience in operating a mechanical tailgate lifter

Remuneration

A competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications, plus superannuation. Penalties and allowances apply as per the relevant agreement.

• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
